Ed Brinkman recalls that Rox Goodwine moved to San Marcos in the 6th grade and later quarterbacked San Marcos High School to the State Championship game and then was the Quarterback for East Texas State. He passed away in 1983. Duane Brooks left SCHS in 1961 and later played for S. Illinois and many of us remember George Tolbert who died in 1961. What if they had all stayed at SCHS, what a backfield that would have been.
